Prima Donna Top KROQ’s Local’s Only Chart
Acetate Recording artists Prima Donna are No. 1 on the KROQ-FM Local Music Chart with the song “Maxine,” taken from their latest album, Bless This Mess. The album was released on Valentine’s Day of this year, at which time the band went to Europe for a month-long headlining tour. Upon their return, they headed to Austin for three shows at this year’s SXSW, and then directly on to a U.S. tour, which concluded last Friday in downtown Los Angeles at a sold-out headlining show at the Redwood.
The band has been on a roll since completing Bless This Mess at Jingletown Recording, Green Day’s studio in Oakland. (Prima Donna’s Kevin Preston is also a member of Foxboro Hot Tubs, Green Day’s side project). Following this first round of touring, the band is taking time to lens at least two videos for the album, and then it’s back on the road in both the U.S. and Europe—dates to be announced shortly.
Prima Donna are playing two Southern California dates this weekend—Friday, May 4th at Shakedown in San Diego, and a special Cinco de Mayo show at Slidebar in Fullerton. On Sunday, they will appear live on Craig Williams’ Uncharted show on KNAC.com.
KROQ’s Local Show is hosted by Kat Corbett and airs every Sunday evening at 10:00 PM.
